North Sydney Art Prize 2024 exhibition
Client: North Sydney Council
Date: 11 May – 2 June 2024
Every two years, the North Sydney Art Prize showcases contemporary art by emerging, mid-career and established artists from across Australia. The 2024 exhibition was held in The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability in Waverton, on unceded Cammeraygal Country.
FLENK collective created medium-format vinyl stickers that had fun, creative prompts and guidelines for children and families. We used simple, accessible language and pictograms to encourage visitors to observe and learn about the artworks around the site.
We also facilitated a community sculptural installation over the course of the exhibition. The installation was inspired by the curatorial theme and principles of the North Sydney Art Prize: sustainability, environment and place. Visitors could drop in to a workshop to learn how to weave using recycled materials.
